Area 27 x Dodge

The brief

Our second project with Area 27, the members-only circuit in Oliver, British Columbia. They wanted something high-speed and high-impact for online. The hero came from the membership itself: we found a member who owned a Dodge Viper, reached out, and he became both our driver and our star.

The production

Three of us flew up from Los Angeles with the car mounts and everything else we needed in our bags, then shot across two evenings on the closed circuit, chasing the good light both nights. Car mounts, drones, and tracking vehicles, run by a crew you could fit in one car.

I also wrote and produced the score, which meant the cut and the music could be built against each other rather than one chasing the other.

That is the whole case for this one. A $10k budget and three people, and the footage does not look like either of those numbers. Small crews are not a compromise when the planning is right; they are how you get to say yes to a Viper at speed on a closed track two nights running.
